Cybi Striders
We are a friendly running club based on Anglesey, North Wales. Established over 30 years ago, we pride ourselves on being a friendly club where everyone is welcome – regardless of ability or experience. We have runners who are fast, slow, young, old and all stages in between!
We meet every Monday and Wednesday from various locations on the island – just turn up and give us a try! Visiting runners welcome!
We race regularly in road, fell, trail and cross county… in all weathers!

Who are we?
We are a running club based on Anglesey that welcomes all runners, regardless of ability. We meet every Monday in Llangefni at 6:30pm and every Wednesday at 6:30pm at one of our weekly locations to run 4-6 miles.
Club Members regularly take part in local running events as well as travelling throughout the UK and abroad to run. The Club is part of the Borders League, a North Wales and North West running competition, as well as being part of the North Wales Cross Country League.
In addition to taking part in running events, we also meet up for regular training events, social runs and nights out. The Club has also hosted several successful beginners courses, which have seen runners going on to join the Club and take part in half and full marathons.

Cybi Striders is a friendly running club covering the whole of Anglesey
As the days start to lengthen and January ended, Cybis were out and about in a number of races once again. It became a game of who was racing furthest from home.
The latest Borders League round was held by Pensby Runners around Wirral Country Park, with Dewi Williams (40:08) being first Cybi home, followed by Richard Furniss (42:21).
Slightly further afield, North Wales Cross Country was in action at Bomere Heath near Shrewsbury. Irfon Rowlands continued his run of form, finishing 2nd M55 (34:26), with Jason Price also taking on this new course, coming home in 38:24.
Barry Smith was representing Cybis in the Victoria Park 10k (London), completing the event in 53:32. You'd think that Barry would be furthest Cybi from home...but there was one more.
Gerallt Edwards took on the Murcia Half Marathon in Spain, finishing in 1:52:34 and taking the honour of being the furthest Cybi from home this week. The question is, who will be the next international Cybi?
This week’s club run is Llangefni (petplace), with the next (and final) Cross Country round on 14th February at the Marches School, Oswestry.

Hi, would I need to inform someone if I was to come or is it just show up?
Nice calm evening for a club run around Bangor. Next week we are in Llangefni, either out and back or a route around Llangefni. Come and join us at 18:20 at Pet Place.
