Cybi Striders

We are a friendly running club based on Anglesey, North Wales. Established over 30 years ago, we pride ourselves on being a friendly club where everyone is welcome – regardless of ability or experience. We have runners who are fast, slow, young, old and all stages in between!

We meet every Monday and Wednesday from various locations on the island – just turn up and give us a try! Visiting runners welcome!

We race regularly in road, fell, trail and cross county… in all weathers!

Take a browse across our website and feel free to contact us.

Who are we?

We are a running club based on Anglesey that welcomes all runners, regardless of ability. We meet every Monday in Llangefni at 6:30pm and every Wednesday at 6:30pm at one of our weekly locations to run 4-6 miles.

Club Members regularly take part in local running events as well as travelling throughout the UK and abroad to run. The Club is part of the Borders League, a North Wales and North West running competition, as well as being part of the North Wales Cross Country League.

In addition to taking part in running events, we also meet up for regular training events, social runs and nights out. The Club has also hosted several successful beginners courses, which have seen runners going on to join the Club and take part in half and full marathons.

A quieter week following last weekend, but still some great runs from members.

Barry Smith takes the prize for busiest runner, taking on the Chase the Moon 5k at Battersea Park mid week, finishing in 25:58. Then Barry was back in action across London for the Crystal Palace 10k on Sunday, coming in in 57:26. Well done Barry!

Closer to home, Jess Bibby took on Tour de Wyddfa in the pairs race as part of team Adventures Awaits. Congratulations to Jess and her team mate Dean for taking 1st in the team event and 10th overall in 6:49:58. A fantastic result!

Meanwhile, two intrepid Cybis ventured all the way to Cornwall for the Arc of Attrition by UTMB, chasing those UTMB stones along the South West Coastal Path.

New member Hannah Gray took on the 50 mile race from Porthcurno to Porthtowan, finishing in 14:51:37. In the 25 mile race from St Ives to Porthtowan, Faith Patterson-Jones completed the course in 5:17:33. Well done to the both of you, another fantastic achievement! Keslowena!

If we've missed anyone, let us know.

Wednesday club run this week is Menai Bridge.

We have XC at Shrewsbury on Saturday, with Borders League on Sunday at Pensby on the Wirral (see Spond for more info).

The next club champs race on 15th Feb at the Nick Beer 10k.

More race dates will be posted very soon!
