Cybi Striders
We are a friendly running club based on Anglesey, North Wales. Established over 30 years ago, we pride ourselves on being a friendly club where everyone is welcome – regardless of ability or experience. We have runners who are fast, slow, young, old and all stages in between!
We meet every Monday and Wednesday from various locations on the island – just turn up and give us a try! Visiting runners welcome!
We race regularly in road, fell, trail and cross county… in all weathers!

Who are we?
We are a running club based on Anglesey that welcomes all runners, regardless of ability. We meet every Monday in Llangefni at 6:30pm and every Wednesday at 6:30pm at one of our weekly locations to run 4-6 miles.
Club Members regularly take part in local running events as well as travelling throughout the UK and abroad to run. The Club is part of the Borders League, a North Wales and North West running competition, as well as being part of the North Wales Cross Country League.
In addition to taking part in running events, we also meet up for regular training events, social runs and nights out. The Club has also hosted several successful beginners courses, which have seen runners going on to join the Club and take part in half and full marathons.

Cybi Striders is a friendly running club covering the whole of Anglesey
Finishing off a busy week saw many Cybis attending Beaumaris Runfest, including the 10k and Half Marathon events, both of which were quite hilly!
In the Half Marathon, Nick Houghton and Mark Owen sealed top 10 spots (1:37:21 and 1:44:22 respectively), whilst Gareth Southworth took 1st M60 (1:50:20) and Richard Furniss took 2nd in M40 (1:59:43).
Emma Alofs (1:30:20) took 2nd o/a, with Heidi O'Brien 3rd o/a (1:44:51). Ellie Evans (1:45:29) took 4th o/a and 1st F40 whilst Katie Baldwin (1:50:27) and Daisy Askari (2:00:18) finished 6th and 9th o/a.
In the 10k, Tilly Edwards took victory in 38:04, ahead of Llio Jones (2nd o/a) in 42:17. Melissa Ward-Williams finished 7th o/a in 47:56, whilst Cerys Jones (48:28, a new PB!!) took 9th and Siwan Jones 10th (49:18). Rhian Harper-Owen took 3rd F50 in 55:34.
Lloyd Williams (38:56, 5th o/a, 2nd MSen), Armon Williams (40:28, 6th o/a, 3rd MSen) and Dylan Thomas (10th o/a, 42:43) finished in the top 10, whilst Richie Williams (44:22) came home 3rd F50.

19 points seperates 1st place Armon Williams from 3rd place Arwel Evans, with Mark Owen in 2nd place
In the Ladies Emma Alofs is well out in front, while there is only 7 points between Sonia Williams and Elli Evans in 2nd and 3rd
Division 2
not as close at the top, in the Ladies Sarah Osborne is leading from Katie Baldwin and Sara Jones, while in the Mens Richard Furness has a considerable lead over Dewi Williams in 2Nd and Richard Groome in 3rd

A fantastic turnout again from Cybi Striders supporting the local Talwrn to Llanbedrgoch 5k race, and some brilliant results!
Cybis swept the podium in the ladies event, Emma Alofs coming in first, followed by Llio Jones in second and Ellie Evans third. Katie Baldwin took home first in the Open category (and 5th overall) whilst Catrin Evans set a new PB on a tough course!

Rhodri Williams took third overall in the race, with Mark Jones and Arwel Evans taking 2nd M40 and 3rd MOpen respectively. Osian Thomas also featured in the top 10 overall, coming home in 8th place.
Richie Williams took third M50, with Gareth Southworth claiming third M60.
